Be a better leader by enhancing your listening skills

An influential leader is someone who can communicate effectively with others. Instead of being just a good speaker, those who want to lead must also learn how to listen well. In my years of coaching people with Jeff Lupient WIFE, a sure way to let everyone win is by truly hearing them out. Here’s how you can enhance your listening skills:

Remove distractions

Have you ever shared your thoughts with someone who was holding their phone the whole time you were speaking? If you’ve ever experienced this or if you tend to do this, perhaps it’s time to stop. The reason why so many relationships (personal and professional) fail is because one party is distracted. Whether it’s your phone, computer, or worrying thoughts, do your best to focus on the person in front of you. It can be challenging at first, but it will surely help you truly understand what the other person is trying to say.

Let the other person finish
For some Jeff Lupient WIFE clients, I realized that their relationships are strained because they always have a comeback ready even without completely hearing what the other party has to say. Letting the other person finish talking will open up your mind and make the other person feel valued at the same time. And while you’re at it, think about giving helpful comments.

Affirm
After everything has been said, affirm the other person that you’ve heard him or her. Most people mirror by repeating the gist of the story while others say “I understand” or even “I’m sorry you feel that way.” Guaranteeing the person that their thoughts have been heard will make them feel more at ease.

Renowned motivational speaker, life coach, and businessman Jeff Lupient WIFE aims to spread the message that winning is for everyone. Whether you’re just starting out in a business or if you’ve hit a career plateau, you need someone who will help you stay the course. For more insightful reads, visit this page.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the ideal life coach

Life coaches are wonderful beings. They help people reach their potential in relation to their goals, and they offer as good advice as anyone you’re bound to meet. However, not all life coaches are who they seem to be. Some are quite lacking in several departments needed to be an ideal life coach.
On that note, let’s take a closer look at the traits that a true life coach must possess.

Mentorship
The common misconception people have of life coaches is that they act more as therapists than mentors; when life coaches fail to provide some form of therapeutic relief, clients see them as failures. This shouldn’t be the case. Life coaches are mentors who help people see the path that leads to success.

Guidance

Life coaches never tell clients what to do. Instead, they ask, suggest, and allow for constant reflection. Life coaches are experts at opening up discussions about a client’s life and leading the conversation to points wherein the client can realize things for himself.

Professionalism
Ideal life coaches are some of the most patient people you’ll ever meet. They seldom let emotions get in the way of their work. This professionalism is what allows them to stay clear of making any decisions for their clients and allow their clients to think for themselves.

Career shift: How to become a successful life coach

If you think you have what it takes to become a successful life coach, think again.  It takes more than just the desire to inspire people to become the best version of themselves.  The job takes passion and a lot of technical skills in areas such as business, career transition and job search, and others.

By choosing a niche, life coaches can market their services to a particular type of clientele, giving potential clients the confidence that they have the expertise to guide individuals through their different challenges.  Areas of specialization include business, career transition and job search, romantic relationships, spirituality, academic issues, work-life balance, aging, weight loss, and overall wellness.

In helping people improve the different areas of their life, life coaches must undergo training that would prepare them in their profession.  Through training programs, aspiring life coaches learn about the psychological principles of coaching, how to conduct a coaching assessment to identify the clients’ needs, communication skills, and ethics in coaching.  It’s important to find a training program that’s accredited by industry associations like the International Coach Federation to learn from the best.

The next step is to get accredited.  The credentials are provided by professional associations like the International Coach Federation and the International Association of Coaching.  Before getting receiving the credentials, a potential life coach must first demonstrate their expertise, showing only high work standards.  Set up a business classification to get particular legal protections as a business owner.

Simple ways a life coach can boost your career

More and more people are finding their heart towards building their careers and finding their passions because of the help and guidance they receive from life coaches.  While the idea of having a life coach can be unfamiliar to some, these talented individuals can help you overcome simple obstacles that may be blocking your way towards success.

The Monday blues are real and it can slow down one’s career progress more than they can imagine.  Working with a life coach can help one have the sense of purpose to wake up early on a Monday morning and get their wheels going towards improved work productivity.  A life coach can help individuals find the right careers for them, and boost their confidence.

Most of the time, people set unrealistic goals, causing them to fail miserably.  With the guidance of a life coach, a person can set realistic goals and reach them one by one, which makes the process worthwhile and rewarding.  Accountability is a big lesson life coaches teach their clients.  Without this quality, achieving goals would be impossible.

A life coach can help an individual form meaningful relationships with their families, co-workers, and possible partner in life.  Every once in a while, we lose sight of our main purpose in life.  Asking for guidance from a life coach can help you center your actions towards finding that purpose and carrying it wherever you go.  Most people, if not everyone, desire to lead a life that is joyful and successful.  While the process isn’t always easy, having a coach to cheer you on can make it positive.
