Some tips for getting more motivated at work

It can, at some point, be very difficult to find motivation at work. But there are ways to train yourself to develop new perspectives and habits. Studies show that it takes just 66 days for a new behavior to become a habit. Below are some ways for finding that renewed vigor in the workplace, according to life coach Jeff Lupient, who believes that winning is for everyone (WIFE).

Harness the power of technology to forward your goals

While certain apps on smartphones and tablets do distract you from work, there are plenty of others that can do the opposite and help you reach your goals. We suggest downloading goal-mapping and scheduling software, syncing them with your email and Google calendars. Doing this will keep you accountable and streamline your efforts at work.

Develop measurable goals

It takes a lot of energy to build up motivation, but if you find ways to set yourself up for success in advance, tasks become much easier and even fun to do. One healthy habit to develop is to always accomplish tasks you’ve set for a day by the end of that day. Work your way down a checklist while you’re in the office. This little challenge gears you up for success and prevents you from getting swamped with work, which does much in ruining your motivation.

Make the commitment

Coinciding with the previous advice, you need to commit to deciding that a given work must be finished within a set deadline and cannot be broken. The time is now; if you are to be truly productive, the mindset of pushing tasks back for tomorrow must be erased.

Don’t forget to reward yourself

It helps immensely to give yourself a pat in the back for accomplishing small milestones on your way to your main goal. Treat yourself to a little prize for increments of wins, adds Jeff Lupient WIFE. It could be something as simple as watching a new movie or hanging out with colleagues on a Friday night.

Seven ways self motivation can up your game at work

Lack of productivity is one of the worst enemies of every employee. Goals are extremely important for one to have a good view of what they’re supposed to do for the short and long term. Meeting every goal can be a challenge, yet can be overcome with the right motivation and discipline.

Self motivation is integral to be able to achieve goals you set for yourself. It keeps you optimistic. The difference between a bad day and a good day is your attitude. While you can’t change your circumstance, you can change how you react to it. It makes you a winner. According to Jeff Lupient WIFE, that alone can become your motivation in performing more and better in your job.

Staying motivated helps you in achieving small goals then eventually reaching the huge ones. Having a stable source of motivation eases your day-to-day anxiety of not being good enough for your job. Self motivation helps you in performing the toughest tasks first. It also boosts your self confidence throughout the work day. It’s important to remember that self motivation works best when you already love what you’re doing.

Self motivation keeps you brave and allows you to not fear failure. Jeff Lupient WIFE says that people learn best from their failures. In every failure you might face, remember to find the valuable lessons that come with it. The way you keep your composure and confidence at work is a reflection of who you are. Make sure that who you are resonates in your excellence at work.

Be a better leader by enhancing your listening skills

An influential leader is someone who can communicate effectively with others. Instead of being just a good speaker, those who want to lead must also learn how to listen well. In my years of coaching people with Jeff Lupient WIFE, a sure way to let everyone win is by truly hearing them out. Here’s how you can enhance your listening skills:

Remove distractions

Have you ever shared your thoughts with someone who was holding their phone the whole time you were speaking? If you’ve ever experienced this or if you tend to do this, perhaps it’s time to stop. The reason why so many relationships (personal and professional) fail is because one party is distracted. Whether it’s your phone, computer, or worrying thoughts, do your best to focus on the person in front of you. It can be challenging at first, but it will surely help you truly understand what the other person is trying to say.

Let the other person finish
For some Jeff Lupient WIFE clients, I realized that their relationships are strained because they always have a comeback ready even without completely hearing what the other party has to say. Letting the other person finish talking will open up your mind and make the other person feel valued at the same time. And while you’re at it, think about giving helpful comments.

Affirm
After everything has been said, affirm the other person that you’ve heard him or her. Most people mirror by repeating the gist of the story while others say “I understand” or even “I’m sorry you feel that way.” Guaranteeing the person that their thoughts have been heard will make them feel more at ease.

Whether you’re just starting out in a business or if you’ve hit a career plateau, you need someone who will help you stay the course. For more insightful reads, visit this page.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the ideal life coach

Life coaches are wonderful beings. They help people reach their potential in relation to their goals, and they offer as good advice as anyone you’re bound to meet. However, not all life coaches are who they seem to be. Some are quite lacking in several departments needed to be an ideal life coach.
On that note, let’s take a closer look at the traits that a true life coach must possess.

Mentorship
The common misconception people have of life coaches is that they act more as therapists than mentors; when life coaches fail to provide some form of therapeutic relief, clients see them as failures. This shouldn’t be the case. Life coaches are mentors who help people see the path that leads to success.

Guidance

Life coaches never tell clients what to do. Instead, they ask, suggest, and allow for constant reflection. Life coaches are experts at opening up discussions about a client’s life and leading the conversation to points wherein the client can realize things for himself.

Professionalism
Ideal life coaches are some of the most patient people you’ll ever meet. They seldom let emotions get in the way of their work. This professionalism is what allows them to stay clear of making any decisions for their clients and allow their clients to think for themselves.

Career shift: How to become a successful life coach

If you think you have what it takes to become a successful life coach, think again.  It takes more than just the desire to inspire people to become the best version of themselves.  The job takes passion and a lot of technical skills in areas such as business, career transition and job search, and others.

By choosing a niche, life coaches can market their services to a particular type of clientele, giving potential clients the confidence that they have the expertise to guide individuals through their different challenges.  Areas of specialization include business, career transition and job search, romantic relationships, spirituality, academic issues, work-life balance, aging, weight loss, and overall wellness.

In helping people improve the different areas of their life, life coaches must undergo training that would prepare them in their profession.  Through training programs, aspiring life coaches learn about the psychological principles of coaching, how to conduct a coaching assessment to identify the clients’ needs, communication skills, and ethics in coaching.  It’s important to find a training program that’s accredited by industry associations like the International Coach Federation to learn from the best.

The next step is to get accredited.  The credentials are provided by professional associations like the International Coach Federation and the International Association of Coaching.  Before getting receiving the credentials, a potential life coach must first demonstrate their expertise, showing only high work standards.  Set up a business classification to get particular legal protections as a business owner.

Simple ways a life coach can boost your career

More and more people are finding their heart towards building their careers and finding their passions because of the help and guidance they receive from life coaches.  While the idea of having a life coach can be unfamiliar to some, these talented individuals can help you overcome simple obstacles that may be blocking your way towards success.

The Monday blues are real and it can slow down one’s career progress more than they can imagine.  Working with a life coach can help one have the sense of purpose to wake up early on a Monday morning and get their wheels going towards improved work productivity.  A life coach can help individuals find the right careers for them, and boost their confidence.

Most of the time, people set unrealistic goals, causing them to fail miserably.  With the guidance of a life coach, a person can set realistic goals and reach them one by one, which makes the process worthwhile and rewarding.  Accountability is a big lesson life coaches teach their clients.  Without this quality, achieving goals would be impossible.

A life coach can help an individual form meaningful relationships with their families, co-workers, and possible partner in life.  Every once in a while, we lose sight of our main purpose in life.  Asking for guidance from a life coach can help you center your actions towards finding that purpose and carrying it wherever you go.  Most people, if not everyone, desire to lead a life that is joyful and successful.  While the process isn’t always easy, having a coach to cheer you on can make it positive.
